John 10:12

He who is a hired hand and not a shepherd , who does not own the sheep , sees the wolf coming and leaves the sheep and flees , and the wolf snatches them and scatters them.

The hired hand is not the shepherd and does not own the sheep. So when he sees the wolf coming, he abandons the sheep and runs away. Then the wolf attacks the flock and scatters it.

But he that is an hireling, and not the shepherd, whose own the sheep are not, seeth the wolf coming, and leaveth the sheep, and fleeth : and the wolf catcheth them, and scattereth the sheep.
