This was to fulfill what was spoken by the prophet Isaiah : He took our illnesses and bore our diseases .

This was to fulfill what was spoken through the prophet Isaiah: “He took up our infirmities and bore our diseases.”

That it might be fulfilled which was spoken by Esaias the prophet, saying, Himself took our infirmities, and bare our sicknesses.
