Psalms 1

¹ The Way of the Righteous and the Wicked Blessed is the man who walks not in the counsel of the wicked , nor stands in the way of sinners , nor sits in the seat of scoffers ;

² but his delight is in the law of the Lord , and on his law he meditates day and night .

³ He is like a tree planted by streams of water that yields its fruit in its season , and its leaf does not wither . In all that he does , he prospers .

⁴ The wicked are not so , but are like chaff that the wind drives away.

⁵ Therefore the wicked will not stand in the judgment , nor sinners in the congregation of the righteous ;

⁶ for the Lord knows the way of the righteous , but the way of the wicked will perish .

¹ Blessed is the one who does not walk in step with the wicked or stand in the way that sinners take or sit in the company of mockers,

² but whose delight is in the law of the Lord, and who meditates on his law day and night.

³ That person is like a tree planted by streams of water, which yields its fruit in season and whose leaf does not wither— whatever they do prospers.

⁴ Not so the wicked! They are like chaff that the wind blows away.

⁵ Therefore the wicked will not stand in the judgment, nor sinners in the assembly of the righteous.

⁶ For the Lord watches over the way of the righteous, but the way of the wicked leads to destruction.

¹ Blessed is the man that walketh not in the counsel of the ungodly, nor standeth in the way of sinners, nor sitteth in the seat of the scornful.

² But his delight is in the law of the Lord; and in his law doth he meditate day and night.

³ And he shall be like a tree planted by the rivers of water, that bringeth forth his fruit in his season; his leaf also shall not wither; and whatsoever he doeth shall prosper.

⁴ The ungodly are not so: but are like the chaff which the wind driveth away.

⁵ Therefore the ungodly shall not stand in the judgment, nor sinners in the congregation of the righteous.

⁶ For the Lord knoweth the way of the righteous : but the way of the ungodly shall perish. Job 42 Books Psalm 2
